Influenced by a Masai blanket from his Kenyan childhood, Louis Vuitton’s
style manager, Kim Jones, took the spring/Summer 2012 collection on an
exotic journey. Travel formed a central theme to the West-meets-Africa
show. Gold and navy tops made from raffia, alligator jackets, midnight
blue silk mohair suits, and a sea of red and blue plaids, made this show
a real extravaganza. Sticking with the travel theme, clothes were versatile and
suitcase-friendly, such as the fold away parka. The more Western looks
were classic and elegant, with a casual feel as suit pants were rolled
up. The show was sophisticated with an adventurous old-school charm.Check out Fashion Blog for fashion, style and beauty.
